It’s Important To Get a Right Bed

With the Largest collection for mattress, in conjunction with the sleep experts at The Furniture Mall, we’ve put together some helpful tips for finding a bed that will bring out the best in you. We’ve been told that, while not the most comfortable, a hard mattress is best for our back. Thankfully, this is not necessarily true. A good mattress should conform to the natural curves of your body, keep your spine aligned, distributed pressure evenly, decrease body movement, and provide proper support at all locations.

As bodies come in all shapes and sizes, a mattress that works for one person may not be ideal for another. To avoid getting a wrong mattress, take your time with mattress shopping. Make an effort to try several brands and types. From pocket spring and latex to adjustable contours and waterbeds, there are many varieties worth investigating. Most of our showrooms allow customers to relax on each bed for 10 to 15 minutes to decide whether or not it is right. For couples, both partners should try the mattress together.

A good foundation is equally as important as the mattress. The foundation contributes to the overall comfort and support of the bed. It takes a lot of wear and tear, so never place a mattress on an old foundation.
Size is something else to consider. If your new mattress doesn’t fit into your bedroom, it won’t be much use to you. The standard measurements in Singapore could be different from other country, so clarify terms with the sales person. In the local market, a king is 72 inches wide and 75 inches long. A queen is 60 inches by 75 inches. A super single is 42 inches by 75 inches, and a single is 36 inches by 75 inches.

Mattress vary in price and like most things, you get what you pay for. Inexpensive brands are often cheaper because corners have been cut. You’ll likely get more miles out of a more expensive mattress, but don’t get sold on much hype. The ultimate test is how it feels to you. Another advantage that comes with purchasing a reputable brand is that they will stand by their product if something should go wrong. A good mattress should come with a 10-year warranty.
